I hadn't planned a post for Valentine's Day, but then I saw a luscious chocolate cake smothered in Chianti cherry sauce on Canada AM yesterday and this idea came to mind.
Cherries are so hard to come by at this time of the year in Canada. I can't remember seeing any in the stores and even at the best of times, when they are in season, they are still quite expensive as they are imported from the USA.
Painting them seems to be the best solution. I can only imagine their juicy sweetness and wait for them to grace the shelves in our grocery store in June.
