Christmas without you/ White Christmas and I'm blue...

I know, it's a cheesy beginning to use lyrics from a Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas album.

I could blame it on too much eggnog, but I haven't had a drop yet this year. Christmas won't be blue if you join me by subscribing to my newsletter!

Since my welcome blog post, I have been busy in my art room.  I am continuing my whimsical fantasy collection, and I have posted painted wood slices for sale. Three girls attending the Santa Claus parade, can be found in my shop (one has a new home!).

With all the work getting my new website up and running, I am a bit late with Christmas themed art and blog posts this year. You will notice that I am using a poinsettia I painted a year ago for the header.  It is still one of my favourite Christmas paintings.

As the year comes to a close, big changes have happened here. 

I definitely wanted my art to be highlighted much more. To make this happen, my blog had to be part of a website. It's one of those ideas that must simmer for a long time before any action is taken, much like redecorating a home.

I would like to thank my web developer, Gayle Bertrand, of 2bOutThere, for her excellent work in helping me meet this goal.

Rethinking my goals

While changes have been ongoing on the website, I have had an opportunity to examine the art and blog posts I have published in the past year. I am happy at the new directions my art has taken. For example, I know that pet portraits will be part of my future plans. 

Most of us have silenced that voice long ago that said you should draw or paint or sketch. It is at a time that we are pulled in all directions that we need to find that calming creative centre that we have neglected for so long.

As I search for ways to add to my creative practice, I want to help those of you who would like to kickstart your own artistic journey. This is worth exploring in the new year and my newsletter will be the place to do it.

Blogging has become a habit for me that I truly enjoy, and you can certainly continue to send me your comments on my posts. I love reading your thoughts and hearing about your own creative challenges and successes.

Why subscribe to my newsletter

My newsletter will highlight new art.  My hope is to inspire you to answer a call of your own to be creative and to share your creativity with others. But first and foremost, the newsletter is a place to connect with all of you in a more personal way.

I outlined many other reasons to join my subscriber's list when I published my first blog post introducing my website.
