Ever Changing Tides of the Sea. Small, unique, hand painted gift.
I recently found out that visitors were celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary. My 4 x 4" seascapes were popular items several years ago. As a result, I decided to paint another colourful little gem to gift to the couple.
Bob Marley said it best: "In high tide or in low tide, I'll be by your side." (1973)
Gentle and calm one moment, the sea can quickly become atmospheric and joyful the next—or even wild and wilful within the same day.
Its ever-changing tides remind us of lasting relationships, with their own ebb and flow, their quiet moments and storms, their joys and challenges—all shaping the course of a love story over time.
And while the sea can be unpredictable, its horizon always holds a promise of possibilities. Sometimes, it also suggests the comfort of a safe harbour—a place of belonging, and security.
Much like an enduring relationship, the sea reminds us that through every tide, there is beauty in the journey, strength in weathering the storms, and joy in finding our way back to one another.
The details of the painting.
Painted on a small, 4 x 4 gallery wrapped canvas, Ever Changing Tides of the Sea is a vibrant, luminous seascape suggesting sunny skies among the clouds with just a bit of wave action to make life interesting.
Layered in blues, turquoise, pinks, orange and gold, the sea and sky are filled with movement. The 1.5” sides are painted to match the front and this little gem can sit on a windowsill or a small shelf and is easily moved from one place to another.
Ever Changing Tides of the Sea will be varnished with a high gloss which makes the colours even more vivid.
I have taken the photo before the varnishing to avoid a glare in the photograph.
