My name is Nicole Bureau, and I love talking about art for many reasons. First and foremost, art has so many beneficial effects on our emotional wellness.

Art as therapy

When I am involved with artwork, I can feel my stress and anxiety diminishing.

Art is my passion because it makes me feel alive. Let me explain a little more.

Since I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I am unable to do as much as I would like. Art definitely improves my mood. I feel less anxious after I have completed my painting or drawing.

Guest artist Nicole Bureau at Louise's ARTiculationsArt also makes me daydream a lot as I plan my next projects. Sometimes, I have so many ideas in mind that they make my head spin. Which should I start first?

Like most artists, I have to be in the mood to work on art.

Once I get started though, I am usually happy with whatever I have accomplished. I am determined to get to the end of the project, and I do so without doubting myself. Once I set my mind on something, I get it done.

Bob Ross as an inspiration in my art

You can see that Bob Ross has been an inspiration in many of my landscapes.

I have been watching his videos on youtube and I find them very inspiring. Ever since I discovered his videos, I have been motivated to paint more. I would love to be like him in style and technique; I think I am coming along quite well and making progress.

My family and friends love my work and I have sold several paintings already. I can’t say I have any regrets parting with them…well, maybe just a little!

My message to other artists is to embrace your passion. Practice a little each day. Find your inspiration and think positive. Art really heals the mind and the soul.
