Alumni of pets painted over the years.
As we celebrate our pets today, April 11 on National Pet Day, I look back to all the pets I have had the honour and pleasure to paint. Through these pet portraits, I have met the most wonderful people. Many have come to my door to pick up their portraits while others have had their paintings mailed to them.
I thank all my clients for their continued support and encouragement.

Do you see your pet? I tried to include as many as I could. I apologise in advance if I did not include your fur baby.
Painted pet portraits of fur babies: looking back for National Pet Day
My special companions.
Rosie came to us last August and will be one year old in May.
Sophie (2007-2021)
Coming soon, two new portraits of Sophie, one for a friend and one for keeps.
Chico (2005-2018)
Mopsy (1991-2005)
Commissioned Ottawa artist.
Most of my clients are from the Ottawa area which makes it easy for me to deliver the portrait or to have it picked up where I live, in Rockland, only 15 minutes east from the end of the Queensway. While most of my clients are local, I have mailed portraits across Canada and the USA.

This is a wonderful collection Louise. You must have made many pet owners very happy indeed.
Thanks Vivienne. I have several repeat clients and I am glad that they love the portraits that I paint of their fur babies! Also many clients have left me messages after they have received their pet portraits and these comments have been published on my website. It is reassuring to know that the work that I do has meaning for those who have pet companions in their life or for those who have lost a pet.
Through your wonderfully presented and heartfelt pet portrait paintings, memories of these special members of the family can continue to be celebrated for years to come. Thank you for sharing your splendid collection of alumni pets, Louise ~ have a great National Pet Day! 🎨🐶🐱🙏🏻
Hi Phil! I don’t think I was really aware of the many pets I had painted over the years until I prepared this blog post. These lovable family members have given so much joy to the people they have shared their lives with and that has also added to the pleasure of working on their portraits. Thanks for dropping in! Have a great week my friend!
It’s always a pleasure to see your wonderful work, Louise ~ thank you my friend!
