A riot of wild colours for pumpkins in October.

These wild colours prove that pumpkins don’t always have to be orange.

In fact, orange is so …passé. In an effort to unleash a new trend, I used up all the leftover colours on my palette for these special gourds.

October comes to a close with a bit of mischief.

All that was needed was some imagination to play with pinks and purples and scratch into wet paint or use markers to add wonky lines or circles.

Just like autumn, these painted pumpkins are statements in themselves showing that fall is anything but ordinary. Fall is nature’s wild side!

Golden moments of October.

After some playful time in the art room, I was enticed outdoors to soak up the golden moments of this final weekend of October.

Over the last few weeks, the warmth of the sunshine has drawn us to local pathways to celebrate the beauty of eastern Ontario before gloomy November sets in and snow begins to fall.

There was always so much to appreciate and I couldn’t help capturing and sharing a few photos.

In my new studio, coffee in hand.

It's time to make the most of the last few days of this month with a little creativity and Halloween magic.

Wishing you a colour filled end of October.

Happy National Pumpkin Day!

  • Dear Louise, congratulations to these fascinating pumpkins. The colors and also the patterns you used are wonderful. I’m stoked from the glory of colors. Thank you also for sharing the photos from Canadian autumn.

    • Thanks Birgit. Fall is such a beautiful season…I remember 10 years ago, at this time of the year, we were travelling down the Rhine through Germany. Your weather was much like ours and I was happy that I had a warm coat, hat and gloves with me. The Australians who were on the ship with us thought the cold weather was insupportable but for us, it was just a prelude to winter. Enjoy your fall weather!
