Lynn Payne - creating all my life.
My parents encouraged my artistic pursuits - they were art collectors and both studied painting.
My father had a degree in architecture and could always point out if my perspective was off or if my work needed more shadows.
Early influences.
Some of my earliest influences came from the classic picture books from my childhood, such as those written by and illustrated by Beatrix Potter.
I adore fabric, especially vintage textiles and quilts which have always fed my imagination.
My work doesn't strictly reflect any particular school of painting. I feel that I have a whimsical take on traditional subjects...representational with impressionistic influences...
Nurtured by her environment.
My husband is a photographer and we designed and built our house to showcase our work. We call it ArtHouse and we market together under that name.
I am constantly nurtured by our home environment and grateful to have my studio within the house, especially during COVID. More than ever I have been focused to create, and most fulfilled when I do.
I am attracted to the landscape around me. That could be here, in our house or outside in nature.
Lynn Payne's commission work.
Wine and perfume bottles are popular subjects for some of my commission work and every bottle tells a story. They may tell of a holiday where my client discovered a prized wine or a still life of keepsakes with a favorite perfume. (I am always open to any possibility for commissions.)
In addition to painting, I enjoy working out in my home gym, bird watching from our deck, and taking care of my plant babies inside or in our garden.
I have prints and greeting cards available on my website.

What beautiful work Lynn produces. Thank you for sharing her work
I like the stylised nature of the paintings. Lynn you have a nice sense of design.
