Furever friends on hearts displayed all year long.
These shaggy Dutch Sheepdogs, or Schapendoes, can see quite clearly through all that fur!
All my portraits are painted from photos that are emailed to me, and it is only very recently that I actually had Charlie, visit me. He is a big bundle of friendly fur, and thus, the title, Furever friends came to mind.
Schapendoes, a breed from the Netherlands, nearly disappeared when Border Collies became popular in that country. However, in 1947, a Schapendoes club brought them back from near extinction.
For the background, I used leftover gelli printed paper from a previous painting. (see Nala).
Versatile furever friends ornaments displayed during the year
Although we often think of Valentine’s Day when we see red hearts, red heart ornaments can also be displayed at Christmas. Indeed, these two pets found their way to their owner's tree this past Christmas.
Pet portraits painted on hearts can be displayed in a dog lover’s home with other canine themed ornaments for Valentine's Day. However, one client displays her collection of pet portrait ornaments all year round. Other clients display pet portrait ornaments at work. Small ornaments (approx. 3") are perfect for the office.
Wood slice ornaments (hearts or more traditional birch tree round slices) are available at CAD$45.00.
Please contact me to order your own furever friends for display in your home or for gift giving for any occasion during the year. Please note, I am presently unable to fill orders for Valentine's Day this year, but think ahead to other special occasions such as Easter, Mother's Day, birthdays, a memorial gift for someone who lost their pet...
Very cute!
Thank you Laureen.
I love these Louise!
Thank you Alice. They were a lot of fun to paint.
They are all displayed year round. They are too lovely to put away. I get so many compliments from friends and visitors at our home. As a proud “mom” I enjoyed them and am very proud even though I had nothing to do with the painting. Thank you for these keepsakes that will be with me forever, long after my furry angels have gone over the rainbow…
Thank you Thérèse. I am happy you like them.
