Fall is about letting go...
Shaking off their bits of copper, these birches tell the world that they are giving in to the mighty autumn wind just a bit.
Letting Go 1 and 2 are acrylic paintings with copper foil details to reflect the sunshine on the falling leaves. They are an addition to the Canadian Vignettes series.
Evocative of autumn's last days when the trees are letting go of all their leaves, these paintings have branches that are almost bare. Letting Go 1 and 2 are painted on a 5 x 5" gallery wrapped canvas.
In these one-of-a-kind original painting (OOAK), the colours of fall dominate...golds, oranges, deep greens twirl around the trunks of steadfast birch trees.
The 1.5" sides are painted a matching bright green or orange. Both canvases to not need frames.
They would look lovely in a grouping of similar themed photos and art, or next to an arrangement of birch branches or small trunks such as one might see for sale in a store in the city at this time of the year. They would also be a beautiful addition to a mantel or sit very nicely on a desk.
I didn't think I would like painting birch trees but I had fun with these two. At the moment, I have a large 30x40 canvas with deep sides partly painted with more birch trees. This canvas will hang over the fireplace in our family room.
