Winter Wonderland Workshop - paint a unique decoration for your home...
Repurpose your old skates! Join me for a fun session painting old skates and making them beautiful and uniquely yours! They are sure to be a conversation starter in any home.
Dust off the old skates that have been hanging, forlorn and forgotten, in your basement or in your garage. It's time to give them a new life!
In this workshop, you will paint your own skates that you can use in your home as winter decorations.
Skates as art in your home this winter!
Above, is an example of the way your skates can add nostalgic charm to your entrance or your family room this winter! And, skates are great used instead of Christmas stockings!
The skates pictured in this post with the male and female cardinals belonged to my mother who loved figure skating to waltzes on outdoor rinks as a child.
Last year, I painted them as a special memento for my sister. When we think of mom, besides remembering her good food, we also think back to all the stories she told us about skating as a child.
Perhaps you have skates in your home that deserve to be displayed as a family memory?
On the left is an example of the skates you might paint….
These skates were painted a few years ago. They are shown hanging outside just for the purpose of this post. The skates you will paint will not be appropriate for outdoor use. Believe me, I learned my lesson the hard way!
What will you need?
A pair of clean, white skates. I bought a pair expressly for painting at Play it Again Sports a few years ago. I paid under $20.00 for a pair of girl’s skates and these are the ones photographed on the left and below.
Bring an apron and any decorations you wish to add such as ribbons, bells, special mementos of your own. Or leave them empty to be filled by Santa on Christmas Eve!
Limited seating. I accept 2 students per session in order to give you my full attention while you are painting.
Cost: $40.00 for the four hour workshop. I accept etransfers up to the day of the workshop, or cash during the session.
