Puppy lovers spoil your pets today!

If you are a puppy lover, as I am (and who isn’t, really?), today is the day we celebrate all those floppy-eared, bundles of waggly tail joy.
Puppies are the ultimate source of unconditional love even when their humans don’t deserve it! Those tiny fur balls who can barely keep their eyes open steal our hearts well before they tumble over their own paws and steal our socks!
They are adorable when they are curled up and napping so soundly after being a chaotic whirlwind of boundless energy.
We honour their endless curiosity, and the loyalty and love they have for their human family, the unspoken bond they create with us from the moment they are picked up and cuddled.
Why not give them extra tummy rubs, maybe a new toy, or a few extra treats today? After all, every little furball deserves to be spoiled!
Novels about dogs and their special bond with humans.

And if you would like to curl up with a good book about very special dogs, here are a few suggestions:
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein (love this one)
My Three Dogs by W. Bruce Cameron (love this one)
A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron (made into a movie in 2017 -any novel by this author will be enjoyable and he has written many).
Marley and Me by Josh Grogan (love this one and made into a movie in 2008)
Pet portraits are a lasting memorial of dogs.
I have gathered photos of some of the dogs I have painted when they were in their puppy stage or close to it.
But whether they are tiny, vulnerable fur balls or dignified old timers who couldn’t be bothered to chase squirrels, they are all precious to their human family.
I am truly honoured and grateful to be chosen to paint a portrait that will be cherished forever. Many clients share their stories with me: I have painted dogs from the Canadian Arctic, others from shelters, but most have been raised in loving homes from the time they were puppies.

Contact me here. I have a waiting list stretching into summer. Add your name to my list. Fall is my busiest season. Or just tell me about your special friend. In what ways does your dog bring joy to your life?
Whether your dog is elderly and living its best retired life, or a puppy in the clumsy stage, to me, they all deserve to be immortalized on canvas, paper, wood, or glass. I won’t judge your sock-stealer, I promise!
