Family Vacation in Mexico.
I painted this beach scene last year as we prepared to spend a week in the Dominican Republic with our family. This week, our destination is, once again, the Mayan Riviera. It is becoming more difficult to coordinate our schedules as many in the group are still working or in school. But we managed to find a slot that suited everyone.
Each year, we add new memories to our memory bank - something I want to leave for my children and grandchildren. These memories include:
- first plane rides for young ones
- first holidays south and escape from the cold and the snow ( again for young ones)
- bubble parties in the pool
- mariachi bands at night and pool side parties
- photographers by the pool and kids thinking they were models (we had a laugh at that one)
- dancing on stage to live music
- snorkeling
- singing Christmas songs together, one song last year becoming a brain worm (Bons Baisers de Fort de France by La Compagnie Créole)
- playing society games as a family
- new year countdown with fireworks
- and everyone feeling thankful for these precious moments together!
What a fun place to holiday. I bet your grandchildren have a ball, and you too.
We had a lovely week together making new memories. Thanks Vivienne.
What great memories! I hope you you have a blast again this year!
Thank you Chantal. The week is going by quickly but we are getting the most out of it. Cheers!
Have a wonderful time with your family Louise. I know how much it means to you and Neil. ☀️🌊⛱️🏝️
Yes, these are precious moments especially as life gets busier for younger generation. Don’t know how many more times we will be able to do this!
